NEW CLASS - Christmas card club

I am starting a series of classes on July 29 -
Christmas Card Club!
We will meet the last Wednesday of each month for five months. We will make 5 Christmas Cards each month for $10 fee ($12 for pre-stamped kit if you can't attend) The samples for July will be on display at TECH Squad on July 8. (August samples ready by July 29)
Club Schedule
Wednesday, July 29
Wednesday, August 26
Wednesday, Sept 30
Wednesday, October 28
Wednesday, Nov. 18
(The last meeting is a week early to avoid conflict with holiday plans!)

Just in case you missed this ...

Bring a guest who has never been to a TECH SQUAD meeting, receive a $5 credit on your $30 purchase on July 8 ONLY! Your guest will get a $5 credit on a $30 purchase on July 8 ALSO! Help me introduce our wonderful company to new potential friends and customers!

I plan to survey your interests at TECH OPEN HOUSE

In an effort to continually improve on my service to you, I will have a survey for you to fill out when you come to the OPEN HOUSE next week. It will ask your opinion about your favorite project from the previous catalogue, your favorite paper collection, your favorite stamp set, favorite technique etc. Just wanted to give you a "heads up" so you could be thinking about what we did (I'll try to have some displays of our previous TECH projects to "jog" your memory. I also want to know if there is a project you would like us to do, or a stamp set you would love to try (we'll do it if I own the set!)
There's also a "game" for the day - Can you guess which sets from the previous Core catalogue were the best sellers in the entire company? (TAC gave us the top 3 sellers) Can you guess which paper collection was the best seller. (I kow the top 1!) If you can guess all 4, you'll win a prize! If no one gets all 4, prize goes to person with the most right answers!

Newsletter went out yesterday ...

I sent out my Constant Contact newsletter yesterday announcing my OPEN HOUSE on Wednesday, July 8. Here is the schedule for the day!

Counting new sets

I've just done a quick scan of the stamp sets in our new "Inspiration book & catalogue" - there are a total of 185 stamp sets for sale! My best guess is that 40+ of them are NEW to this book! Lots of different styles ... more collage sets (I really like those, since putting together a collage is not my strong suit, but I love the look!), new whimsical sets ... lots of images to color! We had a great TECHNIQUE BOUTIQUE at Seminar, with lots of new suggestions for ways to color your images successfully! That's something WE will get to practice together in the next year!
There are 11 new hostess sets - 4 Level A sets, 4 Level B sets, 2 Level C sets, and one AMAZING Level D set that I would LOVE TO OWN! You have seen some of these in the sneak peeks that I have been showing prior to Seminar. I hope to scan the pages and post more soon!
I've been busy on Monday and Tuesday, putting together a "Collector's Club Journal" for each of my customers - I will give it to you on Wednesday at the OPEN HOUSE!
I'm making deliveries in Copperas Cove and Killeen on Wednesday, July 1 - I'll call you when I get my phone back (I left it at Mom's house on the table!! OOPS!)

Monday, June 29, 2009

New - and exciting!

We have a new program at The Angel Company called "Purchase with Purchase" - (it replaces the former GWP program, with larger images!)

Here's my COLLECTOR'S CHALLENGE for you:

Check out my new gadget

I added a followers gadget in the right side bar! Be the first to sign up to follow and be surprised!

Busy on Friday

For those who were here on Wednesday, and saw my big basket FULL of stamps that needed to be prepped - I want you to know that they have all been cut! All I have to do now is print the name labels, put them in CD cases and get them on my current collection shelves!
I still have to do my sneak peek sets! I want to try some of them out!

Sneak peek set

The mail - lady just delivered my SNEAK PEEK set! I posted pictures a couple of weeks ago ... now I have time (but just barely) to play with some of my favorites before we leave for Seminar! I might even design the TECH Squad project with one of them! Be looking for more samples soon!

Another project almost completed

I've made one more card - have pieces made for 8, but only got 3 of them done, and I need to go to bed soon! It's way too late!

This card uses: want to fly T-3946, and edge designs T-3002 (I'm really liking this new stamp set, can you tell? I've now used it on 3 different cards!!!) This card also used the black & white download #5 - I like those polka dots! I brayered the glossy paper with Kaleidacolor Blue Breeze!

Serendipity stays alive ...

I e-mailed TAC today to ask about the future of Serendipity, and I was told that all the stamps and products in this magalogue will continue to be available until at least Jan 2010 when we get the next Spring magalogue. I believe the company is also planning to have a Fall version of the magalogue which we come out sometime after September!

Two more cards for swapping at Seminar

I did re-works on two previous designs (we've done versions of these designs at TECH Squad -
Sprigs (we did this as our "CD" calendar in January 09) - this was my first chance to play with the Spellbinders Nestabilities that I bought before we went on vacation! I must say, I love them! There will be more designs coming!

I also did a re-make of the mailing label card with Love & Laughter - (we did this one in our Unique Surfaces class in October 08)
I have now completed 60 swap cards, + 12 specials for Friday night banquet since June 3! That is quite an accomplishment I think - and I made 13 sets of 4 kits this week for TECH Squad.

The new base book is coming

We've been getting more and more information about the NEW things going on at TAC! Can't wait to get to Seminar next week and see the new INSPIRATION BOOK. I know we are going to have a great time!

In the meantime - here is the July Stamp of the Month set -just couldn't resist making it GREEN (my favorite) - black is so BORING!

Who is out there?

I know that the "Comment" thing has created some problems for some of you - but I would really like to know who is out there! Can you e-mail me at poki04@aol.com if you have visited this blog recently? My blog count (minus poki's visits) is 1082 and I am so curious about who is visiting. Just drop me an e-mail to let me know ...

Primitive Heart Card

While surfing this morning, I ran across some hearts punched out of music score on a handmade retail site (I'll look it up, and post the link later, it's connected with http://www.frugalities.com so I know you can get there by that route if you're interested!). It got me to thinking about what I was going to do with the primitive heart die cut that came in my seminar registration packet from The Angel Company. Of course, I knew exactly what quote would work - from beautiful day in the Serendipity. Here is the set I used:

I still have to decide exactly how I will be decorating the heart to take to seminar (I know I want it to be on a journal front!) but my thoughts came together this afternoon to make a card!

The patterned paper is Penelope (one of my favorites, right behind Amberley Grace) with two of the cardstock colors in the Penelope collection - saltillo (rust) and saguaro (green). I used one of my Martha Stewart border punches to create the scalloped edge on the saguaro paper. They are so EASY! The heart was smudged with Palette burnt umber, and stamped very lightly with fancy curls T-2804. After I had the tag (giga merchandise tag) finished I decided that it needed just a little more embellishment so I sewed on some beads and a heart charm! I have recently fallen in love with BEADS!!!! so you may be seeing more of them soon! I have had the heart charms for several years - I bought a lot of them at a discounted rate when I found them at BIG LOTS (just another one of those places that I "stalk" for supplies - you never know what you might find there! The front of the charm has a puffy heart, and the back says made with love. And I love the way it looks! Just the perfect finishing touch ... I guess I followed Marita's advice: every single day do somtheing that makes your heart sing. (Marita Weidner is given credit on the stamp for the quote!)

I spent Wednesday making swaps ...

In preparation for going to The Angel Company Seminar at the end of June, I spent a lot of my time on Wednesday making swap cards to take ... if you attended my May TECH Squad class, you may recognize the cards I made, with some differences. I have 3 kinds of cards so far, more to come.

Here are the ones that I made on Wednesday...

The stamp set on this one is edge design T-3002. I stamped it twice on the card front, and covered the place they came together with the ribbon. I really like the look! The dotted paper isBlack & White download #5. I really like these black and white background. I may experiment with colorizing them. Check back later to see how successful I have been.

This card uses "be of good" TC-3010, Level C hostess set in Serendipity. There are two of the black & white downloads on this card - the dots #5, and a floral #4 printed on olive cardstock. Ink colors are VersaMagic Hint of Pesto and Palette Noir. This is basically the sketch card we did at May TECH, but I flipped it vertically and like it! The butterfly photo was taken by me on October 9, 2008 at Pam H's garden in San Saba County. I always love to got out there for photo shoot while her garden is attracting butterflies (it always does!) Thanks, Pam!

Here we have the same sketch, turned 1/4 turn from the original to make it a landscape desing instead. Paper, ink and stamps are the same as the Monarch card above, but the photo is a Eastern Yellow Swallowtail butterfly, taken the same day as the Monarch butterfly in the other photo. I love to visit Pam's garden - she always has so many "flying flowers."

Now I have to get back to work designing more cards ... we're expecting about 120 Angels at Seminar, but I don't think I can do that many cards!!!
